Biography
SENIOR (2013): Figured in the team scoring in all five meets in which he participated… clocked a season’s best of 30:38.47 on the 8-K course to finish seventh in a field of 32 runners and help the Raiders take the team crown at the Northern Grey Classic (10/5/13)… capped the season by clocking a 32:32.0 at the CTC Championship (10/19/13)… was the fifth Raider scorer in 34:39.13 as R-N claimed the team trophy at the Belmont Classic (9/28/13).
JUNIOR (2012): Figured in the team scoring in all seven meets, finishing second or third on the squad in each… posted a personal best time of 29:33.95 on the 8-K course at the NJAC Championship (10/27/12)… placed 11th in a field of 41 runners in 33:53.56 as R-N took the team title at the Brandywine Invitational (9/15/12)… second on the team in 30:48.0 at the NCAA Atlantic Regional (11/10/12).
FRESHMAN (2009-10): Competed in three indoor track & field meets at UMass Amherst in the hurdles, 200-meter dash and as a member of the 4 x 400-meter relay unit.
HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered in track & field at Seton Hall Prep (2005 & 2006).
PERSONAL: Full name is Akinwunmi Shoyoye… also a key member of R-N indoor and outdoor track & field teams... majoring in journalism at R-N… son of Anthonia Shoyoye… has a younger brother (Olu) and a younger sister (Toun)… Olu is shot putter and hammer thrower at Bucknell University… born in Nigeria.
