SOPHOMORE (2013-14): Started in 15 games while playing in every contest for the 20-9 Scarlet Raiders who reached both the NJAC and ECAC Metro semifinals… averaged 7.3 points and 3.4 rebounds a game while tying for the team lead with 22 blocked shots… connected on a solid 48.9% (67-137) of his field goal attempts while making 73% (65-89) of his free throws… reached double digits in scoring 10 times and in rebounding twice with one double-double… made five of seven shots from the floor, including two of three from beyond the arc, and all eight of his free throws on his way to a career-high 20 points plus four rebounds and two blocked shots in an 81-73 win over Montclair State (2/22/14) in the opening round of the NJAC tournament… made five of eight field goals, including both of his 3-point tries, and all four of his free throws on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds in an 87-53 win over TCNJ (2/8/14)… hit six of eight from the floor, both trey attempts and both free throws to finish with 16 points, four rebounds and two assists in an 81-65 road win over Rowan (1/18/14)… posted a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds in a 64-61 win over Ramapo (1/8/14)… barely missed a double-double with 10 rebounds and nine points in a 65-55 win over Southern Vermont (11/16/13)… dished out a career-high five assists in an 82-52 win over Rutgers-Camden (1/22/14).

PROFILE OF THE WEEK (February 2014)

FRESHMAN (2012-13): At Chestnut Hill College, played in 22 games for the 12-15 Griffins… averaged 2.9 points and 1.4 points while totaling five steals, three assists and two blocked shots… connected on 40.9% (27-66) of his field goal tries… hit six of seven shots from the floor and grabbed three rebounds in just 13 minutes in an 86-67 win over Wilmington College (2/5/13).

HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year letterwinner at Colonia HS… earned third team All-Greater Middlesex Athletic Conference laurels for the Patriots.

PERSONAL: Transferred to R-N from Chestnut Hill College in the fall of 2013… plans to major in criminal justice at R-N… son of Deborah and Jonathan McDaniel… his father earned four letters as a member of the Rutgers University basketball team (1978-79, 1979-80, 1981-82 and 1982-83)… his older sister, Tiffany, played basketball at Bloomfield College (2007-11) earning All-CACC honors as a center.
