Aidan Albrecht

Albrecht enters his fourth season as the head coach of the Rutgers-Newark men's volleyball program after being named the leader at the conclusion of the 2022 season, where he served as an assistant coach. The Penn State University graduate boasts over 10+ years of experience from the highest levels of men's volleyball. Under his tutelage, Rutgers-Newark student-athletes have earned numerous individual accolades.

In October of 2024, Albrecht was named to the AVCA 30 Under Thirty List for his accomplishments at Rutgers-Newark.

Albrecht has coached four All-Americans, one CVC Player of the Year, one CVC Libero of the Year, two CVC Setters of the Year, two CVC Rookies of the Year, and two NJAC Players of the Year, and one NJAC Rookie of the year.

The Raiders made it a three-peat in 2025, as they bested the field to earn NJAC Championship number three under Albrecht’s.The Raiders exceptional play also garnered them the title of 2025 ECAC D3 Champions, defeating NJCU, 3-0, in the championship match. 

In his second season (2024), Albrecht coached the Scarlet Raiders to a 16-12 record and 3-5 record in CVC play. They went on to win the NJAC Championship and gaining another NJAC Coach of the Year honors. Rutgers-Newark made it to the CVC quarterfinals before falling to Marymount, 3-1. They would go on to win the ECAC Championship defeating NJCU, 3-0. 

In 2023, his first season at Rutgers-Newark, Albrecht coached the Raiders to a 15-8 record and 5-3 mark in CVC play. The Raiders went on to win the NJAC Championship, en route to being CVC Finalists and Albrecht earning NJAC Coach of the Year honors after year one. In his head coaching debut, Albrecht and his squad defeated Ramapo, 3-0. It would be the first of a four-match win streak for the Raiders. Rutgers-Newark advanced to the championship match, before falling to Juniata College, 3-1.

In his first season as assistant coach, Albrecht helped guide the Raiders to a 23-4 season and a perfect 8-0 record in the CVC; including a remarkable 12-1 record at home. They were the NJAC Champions, CVC Champions, and made an NCAA Quarterfinal appearance as the No. 5 seed after taking down Baruch, 3-0 in the first round.

In 2012, Albrecht was a member of the USA Youth National Team where he received a bronze medal at the NORCECA Continental Championship. The following year, he was named 2013 New Jersey Player of the Year after a successful season at Old Bridge High School. In that 2013 season, he was named to the AVCA high school Fab 50 as well as 2nd Team AVCA All-American, which, at the time, was the only high school player from NJ to receive that honor.

He then took his talents to Penn State University where he was a team captain in 2017 and 2018. As a captain he ran practices and workout sessions, managed player responsibilities and walked potential student-athletes around campus. He was a 2017 EIVA All-Conference, 2016 Academic All Big10, an EIVA Champion in 2014, 2015, and 2017.

After graduating from Penn State University he went on to coach the Old Bridge High School Boy's Varsity team as an assistant coach before moving to a head coaching role with Warren Sixpak Volleyball Club. As the head coach of Warren Sixpak, Albrecht has competed in the Open Division at nationals for three straight seasons (2022, 2023, 2024).
