ANNVILLE, PA – Rutgers-Newark shot 52.9 per cent from the floor and forced 15 turnovers by Penn State-Harrisburg in the opening half to build a 51-22 lead on its way to an 89-52 romp in the consolation game of the Rinso Marquette Tournament in the Lebanon Valley College Gym.

Senior forward
Phil Barnes had 13 points and nine rebounds to pace the balanced Scarlet Raider attack which got points from 13 of the 15 players to see action in the runaway victory. Junior guard
Micheal DeShields did all of his damage in the opening half, scoring eight points while chipping in two steals and two assists.
All-tournament guard
Tim Smith hauled down a game-high 10 rebounds and added a game-high five assists to go along with six points while senior guard
James Johnson hit all three of his 3-point shots while totaling a dozen points and two steals in just 12 minutes.
Reserve guard
Greg Moore also knocked down three treys and finished with 11 points, two assists and two steals while sophomore guard
Jeremiah Rivers tallied eight points and five rebounds for the Raiders (2-1).
Freshman guard
Al-Don Muhammad came off the bench for nine points and three rebounds as the Rutgers-Newark bench produced 44 points and 32 rebounds.
The Lions (1-2) got 10 points apiece from sophomore guards Brian Ongeri and Jordan Gatchell. Ongeri pulled down a team-high eight rebounds while sophomore forward Kenton Alston added nine points and three rebounds for Penn State-Harrisburg.
The Raiders dominated play throughout, constructing a 58-34 edge in rebounding while limiting the Lions to 27.3 per cent field goal accuracy for the game.
Rutgers-Newark plays a women's and men's non-conference doubleheader at CCNY on Tuesday in its final outing before the Thanksgiving break. The women tip off at 5 p.m. with the men to follow at 7 o'clock in Nat Holman Gym.
