NEWARK, NJ – Senior forward
Courtney Vacca stretched her string of double-doubles to 11 with game-highs of 17 points and 16 rebounds, but Ramapo stymied Rutgers-Newark, 54-43, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game in The Golden Dome.

Jared Tactuk added seven points, four rebounds, five assists and three steals for the Scarlet Raiders (7-12, NJAC 2-6) who fell for the fifth straight time in NJAC play. Junior guard
Martyna Ruminska tallied eight points for the Raiders who also got five points, five rebounds and two assists off the bench from freshman forward
Keira Williams.
Vacca nailed a career-high three of four 3-point attempts to boost her point total, but the Raiders managed to shoot just 30.8% from the floor. She now has 14 double-double efforts in 19 games.
Freshman guard Faith Flannery netted 15 points for the Roadrunners (8-11, NJAC 2-6) who pulled even with the Raiders and New Jersey City (4-13, NJAC 2-6) in the battle for the third and final North Division berth in the upcoming NJAC Championship Tournament.
Flannery had 10 points in the opening half as the Roadrunners (8-11, NJAC 2-6) took a 32-21 lead. Flannery had five points and sophomore forward Lindsey Grippenburg scored six of her nine points during a decisive 15-2 Ramapo run which made it 28-17 with2:33 left in the period.
Freshman guard Alexa Ryan added 11 points, eight rebounds and three assists for the Roadrunners while junior center Danielle Beam chipped in seven points and seven rebounds.
Rutgers-Newark hosts Richard Stockton in an NJAC doubleheader in The Golden Dome on Saturday. The women tip off at 6 p.m. with the men's game to follow at 8 o'clock.
