NEWARK, NJ – Senior forward Jaleesa Coleman scored 13 of her game-high 19 points in the second half as unbeaten Rutgers-Newark rallied for a 60-56 New Jersey Athletic Conference win over The College of New Jersey in The Golden Dome.

Coleman netted 11 consecutive points for the Raiders to spark a 25-9 run over the final 11:34 of the game which erased a 47-35 deficit. A pair of Coleman free throws with 2:39 left capped her personal spurt and gave Rutgers-Newark (7-0, NJAC 2-0) its first lead of the second half at 56-55.

The Lions (2-4, NJAC 0-2) led 29-25 at the half as junior guard Jessica Imhof netted 14 of her team-high 16 points.

Junior guard Jared Tactuk, who tallied 10 points to go along with seven rebounds, dropped in a pair of free throws with 43.5 seconds left to make it 58-55 before Lion junior forward Hannah Tait cut the lead to two with a free throw 11 seconds later.

Freshman guard Brittany Smith iced the win with a pair of free throws with 3.5 seconds remaining. Smith finished with 13 points, hitting three of five shots from beyond the arc, and a game-high eight rebounds off the bench.

Coleman hauled down a personal best seven rebound while also matching her career-high in points in her brief history in Scarlet & Black. Rookie guard ShaQuanna Marshall knocked down two of three 3-pointers on her way to nine points while freshman guard Courtney Woodard came up with a game-high five steals and seven points.

Tait tallied a dozen points and added five rebounds for TCNJ while also got nine points, five rebounds and three assists from freshman forward Liz West. Senior guard Keri Washington chipped in five points, four rebounds, a game-high four assists and three steals for the Lions.

Rutgers-Newark hosts Hunter on Wednesday in a non-conference doubleheader. The women tip off at 6 p.m. with the men to follow at 8 o'clock.
