KISSIMMEE, FL – Seniors Jessica Zelaya and Emily Ibarra got Rutgers-Newark's only hits as Transylvania downed the Scarlet Raiders, 14-1, in the Rebel Spring Games.

Zelaya led off the third inning with a single through the middle of the infield against starting pitcher Olivia Wall (1-2) who got the win while striking out four and walking one in 2-1/3 innings.

Ibarra slapped a 2-out single to centerfield in the fourth against Pioneer reliever Kristen Harlan who struck out two and walked two to close out the 5-inning contest.

Zelaya scored in the bottom of the third following a sacrifice bunt by Ibarra and a dropped fly ball by the Transylvania centerfielder off the bat of senior catcher Amber Affholter.

Rutgers-Newark closes out its spring break trip to Florida with a 3 p.m. contest against Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
