Rutgers-Newark Athletics

SENIOR (2011):  Team tri-captain who started eight games at second base while making 14 appearances… hit .240 with six hits, three RBIs and seven runs scored…drew five walks to up her on-base percentage to .367… stroked a double to finish with a .280 slugging percentage.

JUNIOR (2010): Primary second baseman, staring 30 games for the Raiders… hit .245 with 24 hits and nine RBIs… posted eight extra-base hits with four doubles, three triples and a home run… dropped down a team-high eight sacrifice bunts… hit safely in 15 games with four multiple-hit efforts… went six for 10 with five RBIs, three runs, and a double in each game of a split against Stevens (3/31)… went four for five in 7-6 loss to Stevens (3/31) in opening game of twinbill… drove in three runs while going two for five in 13-0 win over Stevens (3/31) in nightcap… went three for four with an RBI triple in a 15-9 loss to Brooklyn College (4/5)… had a solo home run in a 13-6 loss to Montclair State (4/13).

SOPHOMORE (2009): Started all 35 games at second base for the Raiders… received the Coaches Award for unselfish dedication to the team… led R-N with five sacrifice bunts while hitting .242… third on the team with 23 hits… had a trip to make her slugging percentage .242… drew seven walks to record a .294 on-base percentage… hit safely in 16 games with seven multiple hit efforts… ripped a RBI triple in the first game of an NJAC doubleheader against William Paterson (4/23/09)… went two for two in the nightcap of an NJAC twinbill against Montclair State (4/8/09)… in a doubleheader sweep of St. Elizabeth (4/9/09), went two for three with an RBI in the opener and scored three runs in the nightcap… opened the home slate by going two for three with a pair of RBIs in the first of two games against Baruch (3/24/09)… collected 11 hits in 10 games at the Rebel Games, getting two hits each against Loras (3/16/09), McDaniel (3/19/09),Spring Arbor (3/19/09) and Utica (3/20/09)… had an 8-game hitting streak. 

FRESHMAN (2008): Started 17 games for the Scarlet Raiders as a freshman… went one for two with a run scored against Keene State (03/16/08)… finished three for three with an RBI and a run scored in the second game of a doubleheader with St. Joseph’s-LI (04/17/08).

HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered three times at Kearny HS… earned coaches award for the Kardinals.

PERSONAL: Majoring in management information systems at Rutgers-Newark… chose R-N because of the academic reputation of the business and department coupled with the chance to play collegiate softball… wants to run her own company someday… daughter of Nelly Rosales and Jose Ibarra… has three younger sisters, Lissette, Ingrid and Linda… likes the Newark campus because of the surrounding community and the people… lists her mother as the biggest influence on her life.
