William Cheung pushed his match to three sets before falling as heavily-favored Baruch downed the Scarlet Raiders, 8-0, at the U.S. Tennis Center in Flushing, Queens.

Cheung lost an opening set tie breaker, 7-3, before the Bearcats' Andrew Smith earned a 6-10, 10-4 tie-breaker set decision on the No. 4 singled court forced by the late arrival of the Raiders at the Tennis Center. Baruch improved to 3-0.

Raymond Postadan was up a set but behind Baruch's Marcelo Kim 3-2 in the second when their match on the top-flight court was ended because of time.
Rutgers-Newark (0-1) plays its home opener on Monday against Bloomfield College on The Golden Dome Courts at 4 p.m.
