Sebastian Narath of the Rutgers University-Newark men's tennis team earned postseason awards from both the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) and Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC).
Narath was named the NJAC Co-Rookie of the Year and earned a First Team All-NJAC nod while the GNAC placed him on its All-Sportsmanship Team.
The freshman was thrust into the spotlight as the top singles player for the Scarlet Raiders in addition to getting paired with
Alan Yu at the no. 1 doubles position. Narath held his own admirably, tying for second on the team with three singles wins against fierce competition while finishing in a first-place tie with four doubles victories.
Narath helped guide R-N to a 1-2 record in GNAC play with a win over Rutgers-Camden. Against the rival Scarlet Raptors, Narath and Yu picked up a point with an 8-3 win at first doubles before Narath cruised past his opponent at no. 1 singles 6-1, 6-3 to help the Raiders to a close 5-4 victory.
