NEWARK, NJ – Rutgers-Newark junior guard
Pedro Burgos poured in 25 of his game-high 28 points in the second half, but Ramapo College dominated the rebounding on its way to an 80-74 New Jersey Athletic Conference win in The Golden Dome.

The Roadrunners (13-3, NJAC 4-0) got 23 points and eight rebounds from junior guard Ahmad Hassan as Ramapo controlled the boards, 53-27, to upend the Scarlet Raiders (13-3, NJAC 3-2) and maintain sole possession of the North Division lead.
Four of Burgos' five field goals in the final three and a half minutes of the game were treys as the Raiders refused to go away quietly.
Sophomore center
Hussein Abdelmaksoud came off the bench for career-highs of a dozen points and 11 rebounds to post his first double-double, but no other Raider had more than four rebounds against the taller Roadrunners.
Sophomore guard
Al'Don Muhammad netted 13 points and dished off a game-high seven assists while making three steals. Junior guard
Greg Moore had seven points and two assists, but junior forward
Jeremiah Rivers was limited to just four points and three rebounds while playing only 16 minutes because of foul trouble.
Junior forward Elgin Brown and sophomore forward Stephon Treadwell posted double-doubles for Ramapo. Brown totaled 16 points and a dozen rebounds while Treadwell added a game-high 13 rebounds and 12 points. Each forward plus Hassan connected on six of 11 field goals to help the Roadrunners shoot 46.2% (24-52) from the floor.
The Raiders hit just 29.0% (9-31) from 3-point range despite a 7-for-11 night by Burgos.
Rutgers-Newark hosts Kean University in an NJAC doubleheader on Saturday. The women tip off in The Golden Dome at 6 p.m. with the men following at 8 o'clock.
