MADISON, NJ – Rutgers-Newark battled deep into the second half before Drew came up with a pair of goals to thwart the Scarlet Raiders' upset bid in Ranger Stadium.

Victoria Nunez made nine saves to keep the Raiders (3-10-0) in the fray despite a 17-8 disadvantage in shots to the Rangers (4-7-0). Drew also held a slim 5-3 edge in corner kicks.
The stalemate was broken in the 69th minute when Drew sophomore midfielder Katie O'Keefe scored off a through pass from senior midfielder Sara Storer. Senior forward Emily Weida scored an insurance goal off of a cross by senior forward Abby Dingle with less than 10 minutes remaining.

Drew starting goalkeeper Agata Dera made three first half saves before junior Jeramie Barletta got the win by making a pair saves in the second period.
Rutgers-Newark hosts FDU-Florham at 7:30 on Wednesday night on Alumni Field before getting a week off to prepare for their return to New Jersey Athletic Conference play at New Jersey City on October 12.
