BROOKLYN, NY – Rutgers-Newark rolled past John Jay, 3-0, to open their play in a non-conference tri-match in NYU-Poly's Jacobs Gym. The Scarlet Raiders fell to the hosts, 3-0, in the second match.

Jen Mendoza collected 26 assists.
In the loss to NYU-Poly (15-12), Moppert and sophomore outside hitter
Ula Nieznalska had 18 digs apiece and sophomore libero
Paulina Walega added a dozen digs. Junior middle blocker
Rachel Witt led the Raiders with seven kills and five aces while Mendoza was credited with 26 assists.
Rutgers-Newark is at Richard Stockton on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. New Jersey Athletic Conference match.
