BROOKLYN, NY – Rutgers-Newark downed Brooklyn College, 7-2 , on the Roosevelt Courts to take its second victory in the Scarlet Raiders' last three matches.

Senior top-flight player Raymond Postadan, junior Elijah Kim, sophomore Rajan Mandania and freshman Youssef Rizk took their singles matches while the Raiders (2-6) swept its doubles matches for the first time this season.

Postadan and Kim rolled past Deshi Wu and Andrew Au, 8-3, on the No. 1 doubles court.  Sophomore Derence Tejero and Mandania stopped Davis Zabiyaka and Yeshen Shang, 8-2, on the No. 2 court while senior Harold Ramirez and freshman Satjeet Banga downed Tashfeen Afzal and Anthony Sideris, 8-5, on the third flight.

Postadan improved to 4-3 in singles play by defeating Zabiyaka, 6-3, 6-3, while Kim upped his record to 4-4 with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Sideris.  Rizk won his third straight singles decision to level his season record at 4-4 with a 6-1, 6-3 triumph against Afzal.  Mandania battled to a 3-6, 6-0, 6-2 win over Marvin Gill.

Rutgers-Newark hosts Western Connecticut State at 4 p.m. Wednesday on The Golden Dome Courts.
