NEWARK, NJ – Junior forward
Christian Garcia netted all 10 of his points in the second half to join the 1000-point club at Rutgers-Newark in an 82-52 win over Rutgers-Camden in The Golden Dome Arena.
Garcia went five of eight from the floor in the second half, cashing in his 1000th point on a driving layup with 15:44 left in the game to boost the Scarlet Raiders' lead to 41-20. He finished the night with 1,005 career points in just 76 games. He added eight rebounds, four assists, a blocked shot and a steal to his line for the night.
Rutgers-Newark (12-5, NJAC 8-2) stayed in the tie atop the New Jersey Athletic Conference with William Paterson (14-3, NAJC 8-2) while Richard Stockton (13-3, NJAC 7-2) was forced to postpone its scheduled league showdown against Kean tonight because of Tuesday's snow storm. The Scarlet Raiders have reeled off six straight wins in the conference.

Chris Foreman, who finished with a team-high 20 points, came off the bench to drain all five of his 3-point jumpers while sophomore forward
David Azoroh worked inside for 10 points, five rebounds and three blocked shots.

John Snow added 15 points while notching six rebounds, three assists and two steals against the out-manned Scarlet Raptors (3-14, NJAC 1-9) who started the game with just six players and ended it with five after freshman forward Matt O'Keefe suffered a separated shoulder in the opening period.

Jordan McDaniel dished of a game-high five assists while adding five points and four rebounds for Rutgers-Newark while junior guard
Doze Ikwuegbu tallied seven points, three rebounds and three assists.
Sophomore guard John Tatem posted a double-double for the Raptors with game highs of 21 points and 10 rebounds while junior forward Teon Russell finished with 11 points and six rebounds.
The Raiders piled up 32 points off of 16 Rutgers-Camden turnovers to spell the difference in the matchup.
Rutgers-Newark visits Montclair State for an NJAC doubleheader on Saturday. The men's game tips off at 1 p.m. with the women following at 3.
