Box Score
GALLOWAY, NJ – Junior forward Christian Garcia poured in 28 points, but Richard Stockton posted a key 77-68 New Jersey Athletic Conference in the RSC Athletic Center.

Garcia equaled his career high in points while adding nine rebounds, but he was the only Scarlet Raider to reach double digits against the Ospreys (10-1, NJAC 3-1). He also tallied 28 points last January in a triple overtime loss at Stockton.

Rookie guard Darrian Collins came off the bench to net nine points and junior guard Rahim Bunch added eight for Rutgers-Newark (6-5, NJAC 2-2) which got 22 points from its bench only to lose its third straight game.  Bunch had three assists.  Sophomore forward David Azoroh added eight points with three rebounds.

Starting guards John Snow and Doze Ikwuegbu split 10 points.  Ikwuegbu dished out a team-high four assists while Snow pulled down five rebounds.

Junior forward Josh Blamon notched a game-high 27 points with seven rebounds for the Ospreys who posted their fifth straight win.  He connected on nine of 11 shots from the floor while making four of six 3-point attempts to help Stockton shot 50 per cent from the field.

Senior guard Rameel Johnson made six of eight field goal tries on his way to 13 points with five rebounds while junior guard James Williams dropped in nine of 10 free throws, including seven of eight in the second half, to finish with 13 points.

Senior forward Nnamdi Usuwa posted a double-double with 10 points, a game-high 14 rebounds and a pair of blocked shots as the Ospreys held onto a share of the NJAC lead with William Paterson (9-2, NJAC 4-1).

Blamon hit four of five shots from beyond the arc in the opening half while netting 14 points to stake Stockton to a 34-22 lead.

Garcia tallied 21 points in the second half, but the Raiders never got closer than their halftime deficit before the Ospreys pulled away to lead by as many as 23.

A layup by Ikwuegbu with 1:23 left whittled the Stockton lead to 75-68 as the Raiders battled until the final whistle.

Rutgers-Newark visits Rutgers-Camden for an NJAC doubleheader on Monday.  The women tip off at 1 p.m. with the men to follow at 3.
