NEWARK, NJ – Rutgers-Newark had four players in double figures in an 87-53 romp over The College of New Jersey in The Golden Dome Arena to stay atop of the New Jersey Athletic Conference.

John Snow and sophomore forward
Jordan McDaniel netted 16 points apiece as the Scarlet Raiders (16-6, NJAC 12-3) bounced back from their worst offensive performance of the year in a 74-50 loss at William Paterson (17-5, 11-4) on Thursday to complete a regular-season series sweep over the Lions (7-14, NJAC 5-9).

David Azoroh added 15 points and seven rebounds and junior guard
Chris Foreman totaled a dozen points as Rutgers-Newark led wire-to-wire to stay in a virtual tie with Richard Stockton (17-4, NJAC 11-3) in the league race.
McDaniel came off the bench to down both of his 3-point jumpers and dropped in all four of his free throws while garnering seven rebounds while Snow pulled down five rebounds. Junior forward
Christian Garcia tied for the team lead with seven rebounds to help the Raiders control the boards, 49-40. Garcia also added seven points and dished off four assists.
Sophomores
Olumide Onajide and
Vik Singh came off the bench to net six points apiece for the Raiders. Onajide posted three rebounds and a blocked shot while Singh knocked down his first two 3-point tries. Sophomore guard
Rahim Bunch tied Garcia for game honors with four assists.
No Raider played more than 25 minutes in the game as both coaches went to their benches early and often.
Junior guard Jay Johnson tallied a game-high 18 points and added five rebounds for the Lions while junior forward Alex Fox netted eight points. Sophomore forward Bobby Brackett, who entered the game with 15 double-doubles on the season, was limited to a game-high eight rebounds and six points.
TCNJ shot just 26.7% (16-60) for the game while making just two of 17 shots from beyond the arc and 19 of 33 free throws.
Rutgers-Newark travels to Ramapo on Wednesday for an NJAC doubleheader with the women tipping off at 5:30 p.m. and the men to follow at 7:30 in the Bradley Center.
