Box Score 2 PURCHASE, NY – Rutgers University-Newark took a pair of wins at the Purchase Invitational – including a revenge victory over Farmingdale State. The Scarlet Raiders downed both Albertus Magnus and Farmingdale State, 3-0, on the second day of the invitational to improve to 6-2 on the season.
The 25-20, 25-17, 25-12 victory over FSU came just six days after the Rams handed the Raiders a 5-set defeat in The Golden Dome. Rutgers-Newark stopped Albertus Magnus, 25-10, 25-15, 25-10. All six of the Raiders' victories have come in straight sets while both losses were 5-set affairs.

Sharee Gordon hit a blistering .471 with a match-high eight kills and no errors on 17 attacks to lead a balanced offense stoked by freshman setter
Nathalie Breining with 29 assists. Gordon added a solo block and a pair of blocking assists to total 10 points.

Karolina Kopacz added seven kills and 10 digs for the Raiders while freshman middle blocker
Amber Borowski hammered down five kills on just eight swings with no errors to hit .625. Freshman outside hitter
Samantha Renfree added six kills while Riley came up with a match-high 19 digs and three service aces.
Caitlin Prete paced Falcons (3-6) with six kills and an ace.

Sydney Tuman posted six kills apiece and sophomore right side
Hannah Riede added five as Breining chalked up 25 assists in a truly balanced attack.
Tuman added three aces to finish with a team-high nine points while Riley contributed a pair of aces to her 16 digs. Gordon notched her six kills on just 10 swings and added a solo block. Riede added a pair of service aces to her five kills. Sophomore middle blocker
Christina Maglione delivered three of the Raiders' 11 aces while chipping in three kills and a blocking assist.
Senior opposite Sarah Palladino had nine kills for the Rams (5-8) who had upended the Raiders in a 5-set marathon on Tuesday.
Rutgers-Newark is at Kean University on Tuesday at 7 p.m. for its New Jersey Athletic Conference opener. The Raiders visit Baruch College on Wednesday at 6 p.m. for a non-conference test.
