Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – Rutgers University-Newark managed just four shots against a stingy Rowan University defense in a 3-0 New Jersey Athletic Conference loss on the Rowan Soccer Field.

Sabrina Solorzano pulled the trigger in the second half, but the Profs (7-2-0, NJAC 2-0-0) notched their fifth straight win and third consecutive shutout.

Veronika Tueros (1-4-1) made seven saves to keep things within reach until midway the second half, but Rowan piled up a 25-4 edge in shots while dominating corner kicks 4-0.
Sophomore goalkeeper Carleigh Trivino (7-2-0) needed just one save on the shot by Solorzano in the 62nd minute to record her fourth save of the season. The Prof defense has yielded just five goals this season.
Senior forward Erika Suhl put goals into the lower left corner in the 20th minute on an assist from senior forward Jess Durnian and in the 52nd minute on a feed from senior back Kayla Leahey to give her seven goals in the last four matches for the Profs. Sophomore forward Samantha Reader put in an insurance goal in the 66th minute by rebounding a hard shot off Tueros by senior midfielder Sherry Oller.
Rutgers-Newark (5-4-1, NJAC 0-2-0), which suffered its third shutout loss of the season, hosts a pair of NJAC contests under the lights on Alumni Field next week. Ramapo (2-4-2, NJAC 1-1-0) comes to the Brick City at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday with New Jersey City (3-3-2, NJAC 0-2-0) set for Saturday at the same time.
