Box Score

NEWARK, N.J. (March 24, 2016) -
The Rutgers University-Newark men's tennis team earned its first win of the season Thursday, shutting out visiting Brooklyn College 9-0 on The Golden Dome Courts.

The Scarlet Raiders even their record at 1-1 and will visit Pratt on Saturday. Brooklyn drops to 1-2.

First-year Head Coach Tom Battaglia earned his first win as the Rutgers-Newark men's coach and was happy with the result.

"It's nice to get the first one out of the way," said Battaglia. "I saw a lot of good things today and we did what we had to, but we still have a long way to go. It's important to use these early-season non-conference matches to keep getting better so when the GNAC season rolls around we are playing at the top of our game.
