From the Coach: Keys to the Weekend from Head Coach Pedro Trevino
-We need to block well as a team, and we need to slow the ball down on the outsides. Both teams like to set outside and right side so our blockers will have to be up to the task.
-It is essential that we serve tough and consistently in both matches.
-We have to play like a team from top-to-bottom and everyone needs to be ready to go. If we can come together and play well, we can get two huge conference wins.
After starting the year 3-11, a young Rutgers-Newark squad has made huge strides, winning eight of its last 11 matches to improve to 11-14 overall and give itself a shot at postseason play.
The Scarlet Raiders have also played one of the most challenging schedules in the nation, and after this weekend will have had nine matches against squads ranked in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top-15.
