BRONX, N.Y. (April 27, 2017) – The Lehman College men's tennis team defeated Rutgers University-Newark in a non-conference match Thursday night in the Bronx by a 6-3 final.
Rutgers-Newark falls to 8-7 overall and will visit Ramapo College Saturday in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament semifinal in Mahwah at 2 p.m. The team will be making its second appearance in the tournament in the last three years.
Lehman improves to 7-6 with the triumph.
LC earned wins at Nos. 1 & 2 doubles, taking a 2-1 lead into singles action. Earning the Scarlet Raider point was freshman

Abhinav Dani who won 8-5 out of the third slot. Junior
Ray Fan and senior
Parth Shah battled at No. 1 but ultimately fell short, 8-6.
Yu went 2-0 with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 4, while newcomer Shadman Munchi went 6-1, 6-1 for a win at No. 6 for the Raiders.
Fan was able to get six games in a 6-4, 6-2 loss at No. 1, while junior
Nadeem Hilal did the same at No. 3. Shah won seven games at No. 2.
