Box Score

NEWARK, NJ | The No. 6 Rutgers-Newark University men's volleyball team is off to an incredible start to their season as they won their 10th game in a row on Tuesday at the Golden Dome against Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) opponents, Immaculata. Under Head Coach Jack Wilson the Scarlet Raiders are firing on all cylinders and don't seem to be slowing down anytime soon.

No. 6 Rutgers University-Newark (10-0, 3-0) continued their dominant play Tuesday night winning three straight sets for yet another 3-0 victory. Kyle Loesner and Arvind Kumar led the Scarlet Raiders with 12, and eight kills respectively. Loesner added to his stat line with four service aces. Travis Emenaker kept the offense flowing for Rutgers University-Newark and picked up 25 assists and a team-high six service aces.

Immaculata (2-6, 1-3) was led by Bryce Wiltbank who secured three kills while John Bohrer sat close behind with a pair. Garrett Pepper tallied a team-high six assists while also leading the way with three digs.

The No. 6 Scarlet Raiders were in complete control of this match as they have been for every match all season. They never took their foot off the gas pedal. A consistent mix of thunderous kills and powerful service aces kept them out in front during each set.

Immaculata, in the opening set, held a 3-1 lead before the Scarlet Raiders quickly turned things around and went on a 9-2 run to take the lead for good. The Mighty Macs tried to fight their way back into the set, however, the Scarlet Raiders consistently answered with a run.

In the second set, the Scarlet Raiders were the ones to get off to a hot start, scoring five straight points behind kills by Daniel Quay and Loesner. Emenaker added a pair of aces to round out the opening run. The Mighty Macs answered with a 6-1 run which knotted the set up at six before the Scarlet Raiders once again extended their lead with another run.

The third set was much of the same for the Scarlet Raiders as Immaculata had no answer for their quick passes and powerful attacks.

The Scarlet Raiders will put their perfect record on the line on Thursday night when they head to Hunter College.
