#RUNMSOC Plays To 0-0 Draw Against Stockton

GALLOWAY, NJ | The Rutgers University-Newark men's soccer team traveled south this afternoon to take on Stockton University in a crucial New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game. The Scarlet Raiders and Ospreys played to a 0-0 draw to each earn a point. With the draw, Rutgers-Newark moved to 10-3-3, 4-0-3 while Stockton moved to 8-6-2, 4-2-1. 

Both teams took 9 shots this afternoon however, the Scarlet Raiders managed just one shot on target while Stockton put three on frame. Rutgers-Newark held a slight 5-4 edge in corner kicks and was called for 15 fouls to 12 for Stockton. Erick Morales led the team with three shots in 110 minutes of action. 

Four of the Scarlet Raiders' 9 shots came within a four-minute span in the first half. Morales fired off a pair of shots both of which missed right before Juwan Ash tested Dino Gromitsaris with a high shot. After the barrage, Jonah Dias was the final attempt of the opening stanza, putting his attempt wide left. 

Joe Alba and Franco Catania both missed right halfway through the second half. Miguel Sencion had an opportunity with four minutes remaining to give the Scarlet Raiders three points but was unable to put it on net.

Rutgers-Newark returns to action on Tuesday, October 19 where they host Wheaton College for the Adrian Velazquez Memorial Game at 7:30 pm.
