Women's Soccer Releases 2021 Schedule

NEWARK, NJ | The Rutgers University-Newark women's soccer team will return to the field for the first time since 2019 this September with head coach Ariana Ruela in charge for her sixth season. The Scarlet Raiders have 18 regular-season games on their schedule this season with eight of them at Frederick Douglass Field.

The women open their 2021 campaign at home against Union College as they look to build on their 11-8-2 record from 2019. From there, they will hit the road to take on FDU-Florham before returning home for a two-game home stint against John Jay College and Wilkes University.

After the two-game homestand, the Scarlet Raiders will hit the road for four-straight away contests with one New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game baked in against The College of New Jersey. The Scarlet Raiders will have one more non-conference game before they enter a three-game stretch against NJAC opponents.

Rowan University is the first of that stretch, a team they beat for the first time in program history in 2019 by a score of 1-0. They will then take on rivals, New Jersey City University before heading to Mahwah, NJ to square off against the Roadrunners of Ramapo College.

Another break in NJAC action will see the women take on Cabrini University before they return to Frederick Douglass Field to take on Kean University.

The Scarlet Raiders round out their season against a road trip to Camden, NJ to hit the pitch against Rutgers University-Camden before closing out the regular season with a home match against Montclair State University.
