Rutgers-Newark's Offense Halted Against Stockton

GALLOWAY, NJ | Abe Kromah led the Scarlet Raiders with 17 points in the 75-54 loss to Stockton University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC). 

Rutgers-Newark (10-5, 7-2) suffered just their second NJAC loss of the season tonight and shot 38.3% from the floor. Outside of Kromah's 17 points, Jamir Patterson and Dante Ralph each scored 9 Russell Ayala came off of the bench to add 8. Ralph and Jordan Salisbury led the team with 8 and 7 rebounds, respectively. 

Stockton (12-3, 7-2) won their second game in their last four outings with explosive outings from DJ Campbell (21) and Kadian Dawkins (18). 

After keeping it close for the first 16 minutes of the opening stanza, the Ospreys began to pull away over the final four minutes and extended their lead from one to 10 before the half. 

Stocking came out stronger in the second half than they did in the first and added 41 points to their tally as the Scarlet Raiders continued to struggle offensively. Rutgers-Newark was unable to get the deficit down under double digits for the remainder of the game as the Ospreys took the victory over the Scarlet Raiders.

The Scarlet Raiders will host NJCU on Wednesday in another NJAC showdown as Rutgers-Newark will look to remain towards the top of the NJAC standings.
