#RUNBB Makes it Three Straight With 4-2 Win Over Stevenson

DAVENPORT, FL | The Rutgers-Newark baseball team won their third straight game to improve to 8-3 on the year after scoring a pair of runs in the top of the 9th to take down Stevenson, 4-2. 

Rutgers-Newark (8-3) had two players tally two hits in Jamir Ramos (2-for-5) and Anthony Ricardo (2-for-4). Eric Recchia pinch hit and went 1-for-1 with a pair of RBIs. Dan Greene (2-0) pitched seven innings and tossed one strikeout while allowing just two earned runs. 

Stevenson (4-14-1) lost their fifth straight game after scattering 10 hits as a team. Jones led the team with three hits while Holcomb tallied both RBIs.

The Scarlet Raiders took an early lead by scoring a pair of runs in the top of the 1st. Robert Gonzalez hit an RBI triple to get the scoring started before Armando Alvarez brought Gonzalez home with an RBI single. 

Stevenson tied the game up in the bottom of the 5th with a 2 RBI single by Holcomb. After three more scoreless innings, the Scarlet Raiders jumped on top in the top of the 9th. Recchia came into the game to pinch-hit and proved the coaches correct when he singled through the right side, scoring both Alvarez and Gonzalez. In the bottom of the 9th, Stevenson put two runners on the bases but were unable to cross any runners past home plate.
