Igwe Sets School Record at NJAC Championships

MAHWAH, NJ | The Rutgers University-Newark women's track and field squad competed at the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Track & Field Championships on Saturday hosted by Ramapo College.

Carmelle Alexis and Brya Byrd qualified for the 100m hurdles with times of 16.06 and 16.50. Chidimma Igwe ran 12.15 in the 100m and qualified for the finals on Sunday. Igwe followed that up with a record-setting performance in the 200m dash registering a time of 24.58. The time of 24.58 set a new record for Rutgers University-Newark in the 200m dash.

Faith Remias competed in the hammer throw for the Scarlet Raiders and finished 12th with a distance of 38.38m.
