Women's Track & Field Set New Record at the Osprey Open

GALLOWAY, NJ | The Rutgers-Newark women's track and field team set a new record at the Osprey Open on Friday and Saturday.

Chandelle Lawrence finished 8th in the 100m dash, topping the Scarlet Raiders with a time of 14.24. Nydia Jackson rounded out the runners for the Scarlet Raiders in the same event, finishing 11th with a time of 14.44.

Zrreyah Moore picked up where she left off during the indoor season and finished 1st in the 200m dash with a time of 25.69. Chidimma Igwe was close behind in 3rd with a time of 26.27. Nadya Coleman, in the same event, finished 10th with a time of 28.18.

Yumna Elsherif raced to a 17th-place finish in the 800m with a time of 4:12.48. In the 100m hurdles, Carmelle Alexis placed 2nd with a time of 16.85. Brya Byrd finished 4th in the 400m hurdles, registering a time of 1:11.12. The Rutgers-Newark 4x100m relay team (Byrd, Coleman, Igwe, Moore) set the new Rutgers-Newark school record with a time of 49.10, beating the old time of 49.18 set in 2022.

Shanil Auguste finished 4th in the hammer throw with a toss of 37.07m.
