GALLOWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers-Newark women's volleyball team dropped a three-set decision on the road at Stockton on Thursday night, falling (25-9, 25-21, 25-13).
After a slow start in the opening frame, the Scarlet Raiders found their rhythm in the second set, battling point for point before the Ospreys pulled away late. Stockton then closed the match with a strong third set to seal the sweep.
Mia Espinoza and Jaedyn Simba-Malasarte led the offense with six kills each, while Tracey Ilderis added four. Angelyse Orellana paced the attack with 17 assists, and on the defensive end, Miley Clenaghan and Helen Bilomasur tallied seven digs each.
The Scarlet Raiders will look to regroup at a tri-match at John Jay this Saturday, October 4th.
