WAYNE, NJ – On Saturday, October 4, 2025, the Rutgers University–Newark women's soccer team earned their first New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) win of the season with a 1–0 victory over William Paterson University at Pioneer Soccer Park. The win improved the Scarlet Raiders' overall record to 7–4–1 and 1–1–1 in conference play.
Eliza Haghighi scored the game's only goal in the 44th minute off an assist from Keliah Cottrell. Goalkeeper Alisha Perez recorded one save, while the Rutgers-Newark defense limited William Paterson to just three shots, one of which was on goal. Offensively, the Scarlet Raiders totaled 16 shots, with six on target.
The Scarlet Raiders will look to carry this momentum into their next match at home in a non conference game against King's College (Pa.) on Wednesday, October 8, at 7:00 PM.
