EWING, NJ | The Rutgers University-Newark men's and women's track & field teams wrapped up competition at the NJAC Championships hosted by TCNJ with a record-setting performance from
Zrreyah Moore and multiple podium finishes in the field events.
Men's Results
The men finished 9th with 14 total points.
Zach Muyingo recorded a pair of strong finishes for the Scarlet Raiders. He placed 6th in the men's triple jump with a mark of 12.88m and also tied for 6th in the men's high jump by clearing 1.83m.
Hunter Eldridge took 9th in the men's discus throw with a throw of 36.65m. On the track,
Adam Abushanab just missed a podium finish in the men's 5000m, placing 4th with a time of 15:09.27.
Women's Results
The women finished 5th with a total of 43 points.
Zrreyah Moore delivered a championship-winning and record-setting performance in the women's 400m, taking 1st place with a time of 55.41, setting a new NJAC Championship record. Moore also finished 2nd in the women's 200m with a time of 24.31.
In the throws,
Fejiro Akiri and
Shanil Auguste both reached the podium in the women's shot put. Akiri placed 2nd with a throw of 12.36m, while Auguste secured 3rd with a toss of 12.27m.
Akiri also added points in the women's discus throw, finishing 8th with a distance of 32.20m.
