UNION, NJ – The Scarlet Raiders turned in a strong all-around performance at the Cougar Showcase, highlighted by multiple podium finishes across both the men's and women's teams.
On the men's side, Shareek Prophet led the way in the sprints, placing fourth in the 100m (11.37) and eighth in the 200m (23.89). Ralph Atokuri also had a solid showing, finishing fourth in the 400m (51.87) while taking 10th in the 100m (11.52).
Jaidyn Johnson secured a podium finish in the 400m hurdles, placing third with a time of 1:05.64. In the 800m, Kyle Rolffot placed fourth (2:04.07), followed closely by Daniel Cortez in fifth (2:05.95).
In field events, Babacar Halsey earned third in the long jump with a mark of 5.73m, while Abdullah Abdul-Mujeeb finished eighth (5.46m). In the shot put, Azor Chareyre placed seventh (11.11m) and Alberto Romero took eighth (6.60m).
On the women's side, Chidimma Igwe delivered a standout performance, capturing first place in the 200m (26.22) and placing fourth in the 100m (12.71). She also added a fifth-place finish in the long jump (4.57m). Suhaylah Muhammad competed in the same event, placing seventh (4.26m).
Daisy Lopez placed fifth in the 800m (2:51.09), while Anglelyna Rodriguez finished ninth in the 1500m (6:15.55).
The Scarlet Raiders dominated the shot put, as Fejiro Akiri claimed first place with a throw of 11.73m, followed by Shanil Auguste in second at 11.41m to secure a 1-2 finish for the team.
