Newark, N.J. - Jaedyn Simba-Malasarte of Rutgers University–Newark has been named the NJAC Player of the Week following a standout opening weekend for the Scarlet Raiders. The sophomore outside hitter helped lead the team to a 3–1 record with her all-around performance on the court.

She opened the weekend against Farmingdale State College with eight kills, showcasing her offensive skills even in a hard-fought 3–0 loss. Later that day, Simba-Malasarte exploded for 17 kills, 24 points, and four blocks in a 3–0 victory over Hunter College.She carried her momentum into the next day, contributing 15 kills  in a 3–2 setback against Wilkes University, before capping the weekend with 6 kills in a 3–0 sweep of St. Joseph's University (Brooklyn).

Across the four matches, she totaled 46 kills, nine aces, five blocks, and 57 digs, demonstrating her versatility and impact on both ends of the court.
