LEXINGTON, KY. – Aleks Kołodziej capped off a historic week by earning American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) National Player of the Week honors, adding a national spotlight to what has already been an award-filled stretch for the Scarlet Raiders standout.
Earlier in the week, Kołodziej was named NJAC Player of the Week for the second consecutive time and also secured Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) Player of the Week recognition. With the AVCA honor, his performances were recognized at both the conference and national levels.
Kołodziej powered Rutgers-Newark through a statement week that included an upset victory over No. 2 Stevens and a sweep at Drew. Across the two matches, he totaled 24 kills while hitting .362 and added 21 digs. In the win over Stevens, he delivered a clutch double-double with 13 kills and 13 digs before following it up with 11 kills and eight digs in the straight-set victory over Drew, averaging 3.0 kills per set for the week.
The national recognition further underscores Kołodziej's all-around dominance and the momentum the Scarlet Raiders continue to build as the season progresses.
