COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. — The Rutgers–Newark track & field teams competed at the Frank Colden Invitational hosted by Ursinus College on Saturday, with several Scarlet Raiders posting competitive performances across both track and field events.
MEN'S RESULTS
On the men's side, Kareem Hassan ran the 400 meters, finishing 19th in 55.36 seconds. Kyle Rolffot showcased his versatility, placing 11th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:12.31 and 12th in the 3,000 meters in 10:13.76. Carlos Gonzales Delgado also competed in the 3,000 meters, finishing 17th in 10:59.08.
WOMEN'S RESULTS
The women's team also had strong performances. Chidimma Igwe ran the 400 meters, placing 17th in 1:09.06, while Shayla Muhammed finished 17th in the long jump with a mark of 4.12 meters. In the throwing events, Fejiro Akiri placed 10th in the shot put at 11.12 meters and recorded a top-five finish in the weight throw with a toss of 14.48 meters.
The Scarlet Raiders will be back in action next Saturday as they go to New York City to compete in the NYU Division III Invitational.
