Rutgers-Newark Athletics

JUNIOR (2012): Played in 13 matches with four starting assignments for the 14-8-1 Scarlet Raiders… netted three goals on only nine shots… put five of his nine shots on goal (55.6%)… headed in the game-winning lone goal nearly seven minutes into overtime in a 1-0 victory over Kean (10/27) in the opening round of the NJAC Championship tournament… notched a goal in a 4-0 win over Hunter (9/12) in the championship game of the Scarlet Raider Soccer Classic… netted a goal on his only shot in a 6-0 win over St. Joseph’s LI (9/12).

SOPHOMORE (2011):  Played in eight matches for the 13-8-3 Raiders… took two shots in a 2-1 win over Ramapo (9/23/11), putting one on goal, but did not tally any points.

FRESHMAN (2010): Saw action in eight matches for the 12-9-1 Raiders… tallied an assist in an 8-0 win over Purchase (9/9) for his only point of the season… put one of two shots on goal.

HIGH SCHOOL: Third team all-state and first team All-Red Division and Home News Tribune All-County for 15-5-1 East Brunswick HS team… lettered three times in soccer and picked up two letters in wrestling and one in winter track for the Bears… honorable mention all-state, second team all-county and first team all-division as a junior on a 14-5-1 squad… as a sophomore, second team all-division and honorable mention All-Greater Middlesex Conference on GMC championship team… has played four years of club soccer in the Jersey Knights Fire program, helping teams to back-to-back state final appearances (2009 & 2010). 

PERSONAL: Joins high school and club program teammate Josh Alvarez as a Scarlet Raider rookie… son of Magda and Sherif Fawzy… has three brothers (Antonio, Chris and Joseph)… brother Chris is a junior midfielder at neighboring NJIT… plans to major in criminal justice at R-N.
