FRESHMAN (2014): Saw action in nine matches for the 9-17 Raiders… totaled eight kills, five digs, two blocking assists and a pair of assists in 15 games… notched four kills and a dig in a 3-2 win over NYU (3/15/14).

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned two letters in volleyball at Saint John’s School… won league champions and ranked 13th in the nation senior year… earned league MVP four times and was player of the month… also participated in basketball and cross country earning an MVP  award in basketball and coaches award in cross country… academic honors as an honors student.

PERSONAL: Son of Glenda Rodriguez Alvarado and Carlos Javier Alvarez Lainez… has a younger brother (Luis)… his mother (Glenda) and step-father (Fernando) played professional basketball in Puerto Rico… participated with Halcones de Torrimar/ Vaqueros… won Puerto Rico Jr. National Champions, Virginia Richmond Boy’s Qualifier Champions, USA Nationals third place, and USA Nationals runner up… undecided on major field of study.
