Biography
JUNIOR (2010-11): Started all nine games before dropping off of the team to concentrate on academics… averaged 9.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game while shooting 56.9% (33-58) from the floor as the Scarlet Raiders jumped out to a 9-0 start… notched a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds to go along with five blocked shots and four assists in an 88-75 win over Baruch (12/6/10)… averaged 14.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game as the Raiders swept past City Tech (11/19/10) and FDU-Florham (11/20/10) for the John K. Adams Tip-Off Classic title.
PROFILE OF THE WEEK (Feb. 10, 2010)
SOPHOMORE (2009-10): Averaged 2.8 points and 2.5 rebounds while appearing in 27 games as a top front court reserve after sitting out his true sophomore season in 2008-09… hit 47.2% (25-53) of his field goals with a solid four-for-nine (44.4%) accuracy from 3-point range… tied for third on the team with 16 blocked shots… posted a career-high 12 points with five rebounds and two blocked shots in a starting performance in a 77-73 loss to Baruch (12/7/09)… grabbed a career-high eight rebounds and blocked a shot in a 57-39 win over New Jersey City (2/6/10)… had eight points, three rebounds, an assist and a block in a 102-67 win over Medgar Evers (1/18/10)… helped a 73-66 win at Montclair State (2/3/10) with six rebounds, four points, an assist and a steal.
FRESHMAN (2007-08): Earned an NJAC Rookie of the Week nod while starting in 10 of the 20 games that he played in... averaged 1.9 points and 1.9 rebounds while playing just over 10 minutes a game... connected on 41.4% (12-29) of his field goal attempts and 65.0% (13-20) of his free throws... hit four of six shots from the floor on his way to 10 points and five rebounds in a win over Hunter (12/30/07)... had six points and two steals in a win over Farmingdale State (12/15/07)... opened his Raider career with back-to-back 4-rebound efforts against Medgar Evers (11/28/07) and John Jay (12/01/07).
HIGH SCHOOL: Played on Seton Hall Prep teams that posted a combined record of 93-4... Pirates were Tournament of Championships winners during his sophomore season, going 31-1... junior team went 30-2... senior squad was 32-1 under head coach Robert Farrell... an Honor Roll student.
PERSONAL: Sat out true sophomore season to focus on academics... son of Franchette and Veguerre Jones... has three younger siblings: Patrick, Fabiolah and Matthew.
