FRESHMAN (2010): Paced R-N with 168 digs (1.70 dpg) while making just 38 reception errors in 713 tries (94.7%) as the starting libero… had four double-digit dig efforts led by a team best 21 digs in a 3-2 loss to Juniata (4/1)… had five flawless receiving matches led by a 34-reception, no-error effort to go along with a dozen digs in a 3-2 loss to Springfield(2/16)… helped key a 3-1 upset of Penn State (3/27), but handling 30 serves without an error while chipping in nine digs and three assists… notched 14 digs in a 3-2 loss to Saint Francis (2/13).

HIGH SCHOOL: Second team all-state performer in volleyball who also was a standout in tennis at Tremper HS… in volleyball, helped Trojans to back-to-back sectional titles and fifth-place state finishes as a sophomore and junior, lettering four times… senior MVP, first team All-South Eastern Conference and team captain as a senior as Tremper took the conference championship and finished second in the sectionals… set school marks for kills, hitting percentage and aces in during his senior year, earning Milwaukee Journal Sectional Player of the Week notice … second team all-conference as a junior, leading his squad in aces and hitting percentage… four-year letterwinner and two-time state playoff qualifier in tennis, helping Trojans to back-to-back sectional championships as a junior and senior… as a senior team captain, he helped Tremper to SEC championship and a state semifinal appearance while reaching the second round in the individual state playoffs… received Coaches Award as a senior… as a junior, qualified for state individual playoffs while helping team to a conference runner-up finish and a state top eight finish… Tremper also finished in top eight during his sophomore season… valedictorian of his class who received WIAA Scholar-Athlete, English Department and Spanish Department awards.

CLUB: Has six years of club volleyball playing for the Wisconsin Juniors and Milwaukee Southwest 17s and 18s… Junior 14s and Southwest 17s and 18s squads each finished third in the Open Nationals.

PERSONAL: Son of Carol and Pat Goldsmith… has a younger sister, Clarissa… his father earned three varsity letters in diving on the Pomona College swim team in the 1980s… plans to major in music at Rutgers-Newark… valedictorian of his high school class.
