Rutgers-Newark Athletics

SOPHOMORE (2012-13):  Helped Ventura College of California to a league title and a 24-7 overall record… Pirates went 8-2 in conference play and made the SoCal Regional tournament field… averaged 11.5 points and 6.4 rebounds per game while shooting 50.7% (110-217) from the field… also posted 28 steals, 16 blocked shots and 15 assists.
 
FRESHMAN (2011-12): Named first team Western Athletic Conference – North Division... leading scorer on Ventura College team that went 18-12 overall and 10-2 in the Western Athletic Conference – North Division and reached the second round of the SoCal Regionals… averaged 21.1 points and 9.5 rebounds a game while connecting on 61.1% (198-324) of his shots from the floor… totaled 21 steals, 13 blocks shots and 14 assists.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Two-sport star in basketball and football at Passaic HS… first team all-county and second team all-state in basketball while helping the Indians to a 20-5 record as a senior in 2010… helped Passaic to a 15-10 record as a sophomore and an 18-7 record as a junior… first team all-state and all-county in football for the Indians.
 
PERSONAL: Plans to major in public administration with plans to become a teacher following graduation… son of Elisa Currie and Najee Salaam… has four brothers (Reggie, Tavaris, Dexter and Anthony).
