NOTES: Talented player who landed back in Newark after Hurricane Katrina derailed his hopes of playing for Division I Southeastern Louisiana... odds-on favorite to take the place of point guard Justin Carter, the 2006 NJAC Defensive Player of the Year who is currently playing professionally in Europe.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: An All-Texas Eastern Conference guard at Jacksonville (Texas) College... ranked in top 10 in league in free throw percentage, assists and 3-point baskets as a sophomore to twice earn conference player of the week honors.

HIGH SCHOOL: Helped St. Anthony’s to back-to-back Tournament of Champions titles as a junior and senior... under legendary head coach Bob Jurley, the Friars went 87-6 during Wimberley’s three seasons... St. Anthony’s downed Newark’s Malcolm X. Shabazz H.S. for title in 2001 to finish with a 30-1 record... in 2002, Friars were 29-2, upending Neptune in the TOC title game.

PERSONAL: Plans to major in criminal justice at Rutgers-Newark.
