Rutgers-Newark Athletics

SOPHOMORE (2014): Played in 15 matches with a pair of starting assignments for the 16-6-0 Scarlet Raiders who finished second in the NJAC regular season (7-2-0) and posted the first NCAA D-III Championship victory in program history… put 50% (5-10) of his shots on goal… registered two assists in a 6-0 win over York NY (9/10/14).

FRESHMAN (2013): Key reserve on Scarlet Raider team which finished 17-6-1, reached the NJAC Championship match for the first time in program history and earned the program’s first NCAA Championship at-large berth… came off the bench in 22 matches… totaled five points on two goals and an assist… both of his goal were game winners put 80.0% (12-15) of his shots on goal… got an assist on the tying goal in the first half before netting the golden goal in the second minute of overtime in a 2-1 win over SUNY Potsdam (8/31/13)… score the game-winning goal in the 35th minute in a 2-0 victory over Hunter (9/7/13).

HIGH SCHOOL: A two-sport athlete at David Brearley HS, earning four letters in soccer and two letters in track… first team all-conference twice in 2011 and 2012 in soccer… second team all-county as a senior after helping Bears into the state sectional finals and to a16-3-3 record… squad also made sectional finals during his freshman year… an honor roll student.

PERSONAL: Son of Maria and Mario Marques… has two older sisters (Vanessa and Jessica)… plans to major in engineering.
