Biography

NOTES: The first All-American in Rutgers-Newark history (D3Soccer.com second team, 2013 and NSCAA second team in 2014)… twice All-NJAC first team while earning 2013 NJAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year honors… in just two seasons, set R-N career marks for goals (46), points per game (2.37), goals per game (1.07)… second in career points (102) and shots (199)… when coupled with his numbers at New Jersey City (2011 & 2012), ranks 13th in career points (135) in the history of the NJAC… posted the top two goal scoring seasons in R-N history (27 in 2013 & 19 in 2014)… notched No. 1 and 3 single season point totals (60 in 2013 & 42 in 2014)… had the top two shots seasons (108 in 2013 and 91 in 2014).
 
SENIOR (2014): Second team NSCAA All-American forward... first team NSCAA All-South Atlantic Region and first team All-NJAC forward for the 16-6-0 Scarlet Raiders who finished second in the NJAC regular season (7-2-0) and posted the first NCAA D-III Championship victory in program history… the Disney Soccer/NSCAA D-III National Player of the Week (9/9/14)… three time NJAC Offensive Player of the Week and once tabbed the ECAC Metro Offensive Player of the Week… started in 18 of 20 matches in which he appeared… led all NJAC player in points and was second in goals despite missing two contests… totaled 42 points on 19 goals and four assists with five game-winning tallies… put away four of five penalty kicks… put 48.4% (44-91) of his shots on goal… in R-N season record book, ranked third in points, points per game (2.10) and goals per game (.95)… rated second in Raider records for season in goals (19), shots (91) and shots per game (4.55)… posted two had tricks while scoring goals in 12 matches… had a hand in all Raider goals – scoring three including the game winner while adding an assist – in a 4-1 win over Scranton (9/6/14)… scored all of the goals in a 3-0 win over St. Joseph’s LI (9/24/14)… netted the insurance goal in the Raiders’ 2-0 over Babson (11/15/14) in the NCAA D-III Championship opening round… scored twice including the game winner in a 3-1 victory over Rowan (9/27/14)… netted both R-N goals in a 3-2 overtime loss to Kean (10/18/14)… tallied two goals including the game winner in a 6-0 decision over York NY (9/10/14)… scored the game winning goal in a 4-0 win over FDU-Florham (10/8/14)… posted a goal and an assist in a 4-0 win over Stockton (10/10/14)… tallied the Raiders’ lone goal in a 3-1 loss to Rutgers-Camden (11/4/14) in the NJAC semifinals.

SOPHOMORE (2012): Started in eight of the 10 matches in which he appeared for New Jersey City (11-10-1)… ranked fourth in the NJAC in goals (14) and points (29) despite playing in only 10 matches… averaged 2.90 points and 1.4 goals per game… was named the MVP of the Liberty Cup after scoring all three of his team’s goals – including the game winner in overtime – in a 3-2 victory over FDU-Florham… named the NJAC Offensive Player of the Week (9/9)… put 48.9% (23-47) of his shots on goal… scored on his only penalty kick of the season.

FRESHMAN (2011): Played in a dozen matches with three starting assignments for New Jersey City (6-10-2)… netted two goals… put half of his 26 shots on goal.

HIGH SCHOOL: First team all-conference, first team all-county, and first team all-state in soccer for
North Plainfield HS... earned four letters in soccer… member of the Group II Central State championship team in 2010… also participated in wrestling, tennis and track for the Canucks… academic honors in national honor society.

PERSONAL: Transferred to R-N from New Jersey City University in the fall of 2013... son of Deuselia and Joseph Leonetti… has two sisters (Danielle and Julia)… born in Brazil.
