Biography
FRESHMAN (2010): Started all 26 matches for 13-13 Scarlet Raiders, ranking second on the team with a .341 hitting percentage… averaged 2.14 points and 1.40 kills per game while averaging 1.08 blocks… led the team with 16 solo blocks and added 87 assisted blocks to trail only All-EAST senior Jon Keller in overall blocking on the squad… fourth on squad with 203.5 points… posted multiple blocks in all but three contests… had double-digit kills in three of the final seven matches… had seven double-figure point efforts... hit .500 or better eight times… notched career-high 17.0 points with a dozen kills, a career-high four solo blocks and two assisted blocks in a 3-2 loss to Princeton (4/17)… hit .611 with a dozen kills and just one error on 18 swings while adding a solo block and four assisted blocks for 15.0 points in a 3-1 win at Springfield (4/10)… notched 11 kills and four assisted blocks in a 3-2 loss to Juniata (4/1)… had a career-high five digs to go along with nine kills, a solo block and three assisted blocks in a 3-2 win at George Mason (3/5)… delivered a career-high three aces while hitting .545 (7-1-11) in a 3-2 loss at Ball State (1/30).
CLUB: Has played with the Warren SixPak Club since 2006 under coach Fred Siegel.
PERSONAL: Attended Seton Hall Prep which does not sponsor a volleyball program… undecided on major field of study at Rutgers-Newark… son of Christine and Jarema Kochan… has an older brother, Adrian, and an older sister, Deanna.
