UNION, NJ – Rutgers-Newark ran its winning streak to four with a 6-3 victory over Kean University on the Alumni Stadium Courts, finishing a match that was halted by darkness on Wednesday.

The Scarlet Raiders (5-7, NJAC 2-3) finished their New Jersey Athletic Conference slate with wins over William Paterson and Kean after an 0-3 start. The Cougars slipped to 3-4 overall and 0-3 in NJAC play.
Rutgers-Newark took five of six singles matches to offset a 2-1 deficit in doubles play that the squad carried over from Wednesday into today's wrap up.

Lia Salierno bowing in a three-set defeat on the second flight to

Lawrence, who missed Wednesday's doubles play because of classes, bounced back to defeat
Lisette LaForge, 2-6, 6-4, 6-0 on the top flight while Northrup battled to a 7-5, 6-7 (7-9), 6-3 win on the No. 5 court over Kean's
Jessica Oquendo.
Fitzsimmons was stopped
Alleyna Alleyne, 6-4, 6-2 on the third flight, and Kuilan needed a tie-breaker to subdue
Miriam Penafiel, 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 on the No. 5 court.
Li won a third-set tie-breaker to complete a 1-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) come-from-behind win over
Annie Ramos.
Rutgers-Newark is scheduled to begin play in the NJAIAW Championship at Drew University tomorrow.
