NEWARK, NJ – Rutgers-Newark freshman Ashley Lawrence won the top-flight singles match and teamed with classmate Lia Salierno to claim a doubles win on court No. 1, but FDU-Florham slipped past the Scarlet Raiders, 5-4, on The Golden Dome Courts.

The Raiders (0-4) split singles play with juniors Kelly Fitzsimmons and Amanda Northrup notching straight set victories, but the Devils (1-1) took the second and third flight doubles matches to spell the difference in the contest. 

Rutgers-Newark takes on Richard Stockton in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match on Wednesday at 4 p.m. on The Golden Dome Courts before travelling to Brooklyn for a non-conference contest on Thursday at 4 o'clock.
