Kelly Fitzsimmons notched a win on the top-flight doubles court, but Ramapo powered past the Scarlet Raiders, 8-1, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference women's tennis match on The Golden Dome Courts.

Lawrence and Fitzsimmons downed the Roadrunners'
Laura Strandberg and
Brittany Pitts, 8-4, but that was the only positive for the Raiders (1-7, NJAC 0-3) against Ramapo (5-2, NJAC 1-1).
Lawrence was the only Raider to extend her singles match to three sets, falling 6-0, 4-6 and 10-6 in a final frame pro-set against Strandberg on the top flight. Fitzsimmons bowed in a pro-set, 8-4, to
Kristine Austria on the No. 2 court. The bottom four singles matches were each swept by the Roadrunners, 6-0, 6-0.
Rutgers-Newark hosts William Paterson in another NJAC contest on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. on The Golden Dome Courts.
