NEWARK, NJ – Keystone College used a 6-run fifth inning to down Rutgers-Newark, 10-3, in a non-conference baseball game in Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium.

Nelson Lopez rapped a double and a single in his only plate appearances in the final two innings.
It was a tight 2-0 contest until the Giants got to Raider senior right-handed starter

Rutgers-Newark (6-11) got back a run in the sixth when junior second baseman
Matt Connors doubled into the leftfield corner and scored on a fielding error on a ground ball off the bat of senior designated hitter
Anthony Yeswita.
But, the Giants notched a run in the seventh and eighth to run the score to 10-1 before the Raiders answered for the final time with reserves in the lineup.

Michael Dennis walked to lead off the eighth before Lopez doubled to put runners in scoring position. Dennis scored on a passed ball ahead of a 2-out single through the left side of the infield by Palladino.
Rutgers-Newark opens New Jersey Athletic Conference play on Friday at Montclair State. The first pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
