CAMDEN, NJ – Rutgers-Camden rallied for five runs in the top of the sixth in game two to deny Rutgers-Newark a New Jersey Athletic Conference win and complete a sweep of a doubleheader in Rutgers-Camden Community Park. The Scarlet Raiders (9-12, NJAC 0-4) fell, 9-6 and 6-5, in the twinbill.

In the nightcap, freshman third baseman
Monica Liotto ripped an RBI double to cap a 2-run fifth inning rally which staked Rutgers-Newark to a 5-1 lead. But the Scarlet Raptors (14-5, NJAC 3-1) exploded for five runs on three singles, two doubles and a walk in the sixth to end the Raiders' hopes of posting a conference victory.

Samantha Veneziano (3-5), who took a 5-hitter into the sixth, took the loss.
Senior catcher
Amber Affholter went two for three for Rutgers-Newark which managed just five hits against Raptor senior Ashley Jimenez (7-3).
Back-to-back infield grounders by freshman rightfielder
Quiana Gleaves and Veneziano plated runs as Rutgers-Newark took an early 3-0 lead with the help of a Rutgers-Camden error in the second.
In the opener, the Raptors jumped on freshman starter
Angela Riscinti (5-6) for four runs on two hits and four Raider errors in the first to seize control of the game.
The Raiders out hit the Raptors, 11-9, with junior centerfielder
Jessica Zelaya and Affholter getting two hits apiece.
An Affholter RBI single in the third followed by a sacrifice fly by Liotto got the Raiders on the board with two runs in the third. Zelaya had an RBI single to start a 2-run rally in the fourth. A 2-run single by junior third baseman Ashle
Ashley Angeli pushed across the final Raider runs in the top of the seventh.
The Scarlet Raiders host FDU-Florham at 5:30 p.m. on Alumni Field on Thursday.
